Grief Literacy is Needed Now More Than Ever

It’s time my friends. It’s time to take the collective wisdom of the widows and begin to expand the conversation. Welcome to my next project.

1. Grief Touches Everyone

Grief is universal. Whether it’s the loss of a loved one, a relationship, or even a sense of stability, every person will face grief at some point. Yet, many of us are unprepared to talk about it, support someone through it, or even navigate our own emotions.

2. What is Grief Literacy?

Grief literacy is about developing the knowledge and skills to support those who are grieving. It means understanding that grief isn’t a linear process and learning how to be present for someone without trying to “fix” them. Grief literacy equips us to be compassionate and thoughtful supporters when others need us most.

3. Why the World Needs Grief Literacy Right Now

In today’s world, especially post-pandemic, grief is everywhere. People are grieving losses of all kinds—loved ones, jobs, routines—and many feel isolated because those around them don’t know how to help. By becoming more grief-literate, we can create spaces where people feel understood, supported, and less alone.

4. The Benefits of Grief Literacy

Grief literacy helps everyone. Here’s how:

5. How Grief Wise Solutions Makes a Difference

Navigating Widowhood will be growing; expanding to include Grief Wise Solutions, where our mission is to teach grief literacy so that no one has to feel isolated or unsupported in their grief. Through workshopscoaching, and resources, we provide practical tools that empower people to support each other in meaningful, compassionate ways.

6. Join the Movement

Grief literacy is a movement toward a more empathetic world. If you’re ready to help create communities that are grief-supportive and resilient, follow us for more resources, join our workshops, or subscribe to our newsletter in the coming days. You can find me over at Grief Wise Solutions.
